Space score

Chris McDonald, headteacher and educational writer, uses music software to create a musical score for a scintillating space story.

The idea behind this lesson is to help children create a musical score for a story. Start by asking the children to think about what space music might sound like. Play some suitable examples such as Holst’s The Planets or PPK’s ResuRection, or music from films or TV programmes that have a sci-fi theme and involve space, for example Star Wars, Doctor Who and 2001: A Space Odyssey.
