Anzac biscuits recipe

Use this resource with the Life on the ocean wave and Assembly time – Australia lessons from our Australia topic.

Get a taste for down under with these easy-to-bake biscuits. With lots of rolled oats, coconut and not too much fat or sugar (there was a war on!) they're a relatively healthy option.

ANZAC Day on 25 April marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps and these biscuits were baked and given to the troops as a reminder of home.
